Working Principle of Hydraulic Power Unit
Hydraulic Power Unit (HPU)

A hydraulic power unit (HPU) serves as the power source of hydraulic systems. It transfers force via hydraulic oil, converting electric energy into hydraulic energy to drive hydraulic cylinders, hydraulic motors and other actuators.

Main working process: The electric motor drives the hydraulic pump to draw hydraulic oil from the oil tank. The pump pressurizes the oil and converts mechanical energy into high-pressure hydraulic energy. Pressurized oil flows through control valves to actuators, pushing loads to extend, retract or rotate. Return oil from actuators flows back to the tank after cooling and filtration to complete circulation.

Auxiliary components realize different functions: relief valves set system maximum pressure; pressure gauges monitor working pressure; coolers and filters keep oil clean within proper temperature; accumulators stabilize pressure and compensate pressure loss.

By adjusting solenoid valves and flow control valves, users can accurately control pressure, flow rate and movement direction, achieving smooth start-stop and stepless speed regulation for machinery.
